Liotard Portraits

Liotard Portraits

To coincide with the Jean- Etienne Liotard exhibition at the Royal Academy of Arts. Cash Aspeek invited Ruth Day to work with David Quan in soft pastels responding to three eccentric and distinctive portraits from the exhibition.

Ruth and David made their own individual drawing smudging and rubbing the pastel into the paper to create layers of warmth and glow. David's Prince of Wales stares out, dazed and haunting. His resulting work was sold at Hilly Fields Cafe to raise funds for the residency projects.
